Earth Hour 2016 Night Walk Georgetown, Pulau Pinang.

Earth Hour is more than an event. It is a movement that has achieved massive environmental impact, including legislation changes by harnessing the power of the crowd.

Earth Hour is a global environmental initiative led by WWF. Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn off their lights for one hour on Saturday, 19 March 2016 at 8.30pm (local time) to show their support for environmentally sustainable action.

All funds raised will be channeled to WWF-Malaysia's conservation efforts.

1st Avenue Mall, Penang

Time:
  • 6:00pm Pre-event activities and booths open for walk participants.
  • 8:30pm Earth Hour Night Walk Flag off / Earth Hour lights-off.
  • 9:30pm Earth Hour Night Walk ends and distribution of medals / Earth Hour lights-on.
  • 10:30pm Earth Hour activities ends.

**The 3.5km night walk will begin and end at Lebuh Lintang (next to 1st Avenue Mall), via Jalan Sungai Ujong, Lebuh Chulia, Lebuh Pantai, Jalan Magazine.

Mission:
Earth Hour appeals to everyone to take account for our impact on the planet and make behavioral changes to facilitate a sustainable lifestyle. By switching off non-essential lights for Earth Hour, supporters would be acknowledging their commitment to do something more for the planet that goes beyond the hour.

My Experiences:
By joining this event, not only pledged to nurture Mother Earth as well as the body, mind and soul. This event also build up my confidence level to get fit and encourage me to serve something beneficial to Mother Earth. Hopefully, in future I will take part in this kind activities.
